About Us
When I was 5 years old and in the Little Miss Calhoun County Pageant, I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I responded by saying, "a teacher, just like my momma". At 5 years old I knew the value of education and even through the eyes of a child, the importance of a solid educational foundation. After graduating from Ouachita Baptist University with a degree in Early Childhood Education, other opportunities presented themselves, pulling me away from education. After 10 years, God reminded me of the calling placed on my life and combined that calling with a desire to serve the church. I became the Preschool Director at Second Baptist, always saying I would stay until God moved me. In May 2023, I felt God moving and the vision of Westside Christian Academy was clear. Our family's desire was to open a Christ-centered program that taught kids first who Jesus was and about His love for them. After that we would saturate kids in love and positivity, so that every child that entered our doors felt the spirit of Jesus and felt at home.
Our program would be different, small, so that it felt like a family where we knew everyone's name and could shoulder each other's burdens. We would have high standards so that all our students knew their value and had something to strive for. And above all, it would never be about us, but always humbly about the mission of teaching kids about Jesus.

Our Program
When you see our name you see Christian before you see Academy. There is intentionality behind that for several reasons. Primarily because our number one focus is on Christ. Our primary goal is educating children on who God is and that He loves them. We believe teaching this foundation is planting seeds of salvation that will hopefully be cultivated to fruition in years to come.

With the base of our education being founded in Christ, we then build on that foundation and introduce a robust curriculum beginning in our 1 year old class. We start introducing our curriculum concepts with our youngest students and continuing building in the following years. Our desire is that when students leave our program, they are more than adequately prepared for their next phase of education.
Our Staff
At Westside Christian Academy, we strive to surround our students with a staff that will point them towards Christ. Our staff are background checked and CPR certified, all have completed professional development courses as well as center-based trainings to properly prepare them for the classroom. Our mission is to point to Jesus, pour into and love, and develop a strong desire to learn within all our students.
We consider serving your family, through teaching your children, a calling that we take very seriously and consider it a privilege to have you in our Westside family.
